Dennis McGinty graduated from Michigan State University (B.A., with honors, 1964) and the University of Michigan (J.D., 1966), Phi Alpha Delta.  He was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1966; the Michigan and U.S. District Court, Western District of Michigan – 1971, U.S. Tax Court – 1987, U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit – 1989, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan.

Mr. McGinty’s legal experience includes: Assistant Prosecutor, Ingham County, 1966-1969. Assistant City Attorney, East Lansing, 1969-1973. City Attorney: East Lansing, 1973-2012; City Attorney, Mason, 1975-2014; Township Attorney, Watertown Township, 1994-2015; Southern Clinton County Municipal Utility Authority 1976-1996. Mediator, Ingham County Circuit Court, Tort Panel, 1985 to present.

Mr. McGinty is a member of the Ingham County Bar Association; State Bar of Michigan (Member, Master Lawyers Section); National Institute of Municipal Law Officers; Michigan Association of Municipal Attorneys.
